Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to Glenn Gould’s recordings of Bach as a child. Even though I had no academic notion of music at this point, I was drawn to & fascinated by the intricate musical shapes & counterpoints. They have stayed with me & informed my life ever since
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? ABBA, The Visitors (Deluxe Edition) David Bowie, Hunky Dory (2015 Remaster) Sir Georg Solti, Wiener Philharmoniker, Wagner: Götterdämmerung (Remastered 2022) Hunky Dory - It has such poetic scope & sets out his musical & lyrical style Wagner: Götterdämmerung - It is a masterpiece in dynamics and emotion. The Visitors - It embraces new synth textures & explores much more serious emotional themes
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Solitaire” Writing this song was so cathartic it was almost an exorcism. It refers to traumatic experiences from my childhood - The story is there in the lyrics.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I will never forget Making the video for my song "Evening in Space'" with my dear friend David LaChapelle. It was 3 consecutive days and nights of pure insanity, which is where I like to live.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, plenty - I have many more songs in me. I feel every day that this is just the beginning and I'm ready to embrace the next adventure whatever it may be.
