Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I used to go to a farmer's market with my parents, there was a jazz trio that always played there every week. I remember dancing around in front of the band when I was about four years old, taking breaks to eat kettle corn.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Autechre, Amber Burial, Untrue Sweet Trip, velocity : design : comfort. It's impossible to pick favorite albums, but these records are such a beautiful exploration of rhythm and texture. All are very hazy and woozy, but percussive and tight, with gorgeous melodies and spacious soundcapes.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “AF Rex” I really love this tune. It was written very quickly and came out fully formed. This really synthesizes many of my aesthetic preferences, juxtaposing the spacey pads and textures with driving drums.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The first time I got asked to play at a music festival solo (not as part of a band) :)
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So many things I still want to do! Many clubs and festivals I would love to perform at including Sustain Releasee, Fold London, Nowadays, Houghton, Free Rotation, and so many others. I also have many labels that I would still love to release with.
