Daniel Ögren's lush, playful music has roots in South American and Nordic folk music, exotica, psychedelic pop, and film scores, among many other genres, but remains ever-evolving and hard to pin down. In the 2020s, he found success as a member of the acclaimed indie pop band Dina Ögon, but the Swedish producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist has also worked extensively with Anna von Hausswolff and other Scandinavian artists such as the Mary Onettes and Sven Wunder. Ögren released his first album, Laponia, in 2011, and has since issued several limited cassettes and LPs. 2020's Fastingen-92 featured the instantly familiar-sounding "Idag," sung by Anna Ahnlund. The two subsequently formed Dina Ögon and released a trio of critically admired albums including 2023's Oas and 2024's Orion. Ögren returned to solo work in 2025 with his tenth solo outing, Pine.
