Born in 1962 in Genoa, Italian singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Cristiano De André, the son of notable musicians Fabrizio De André and Enrica Rignon, formed the group I Tempi Duri in the early '80s before embarking on a successful solo career. The band released just one album, 1982's Chiamali Tempi Duri, before calling it quits. De André released his solo eponymous debut in 1987, followed by a string of albums including Sul Confine and Scaramante. ~ James Christopher Monger
