About Corin Tucker
Artist Biography
A co-founder of Sleater-Kinney, Corin Tucker also played in Heavens to Betsy early in that decade before joining forces with Carrie Brownstein in 1994. Sleater-Kinney's music earned near-universal acclaim from the release of the band's 1995's self-titled debut album to 2005's The Woods. After touring in support of that album, the group took an indefinite hiatus. During that time, Tucker focused on motherhood and other concerns until a 2009 Portland, Oregon benefit show spurred her to perform some of the songs she had written while she was away from the spotlight. The resulting 1,000 Years was released in October 2010. Two years later, the band returned with the impassioned Kill My Blues. ~ Heather Phares
