About Colette Magny
Artist Biography
French singer/songwriter Colette Magny debuted in 1963 with the single "Melocoton," the closest she would ever come to a mainstream hit. She returned two years later with "Avec" Poème (1966), an experimental effort informed by musique concrète on which André Almuro is credited for the music. Magny then began her long association with the Le Chant du Monde label, beginning with the album Colette Magny (1967) and concluding with Chansons Pour Titine (1983). In later years, Magny self-released the album Kevork (1989) on the Colette Magny Promotion label. She passed away on June 12, 1997, in Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Aveyron, France. ~ Jason Birchmeier
