Artist Biography
Born in Uruguay, Cobra Starship founder Gabe Saporta emigrated with his family to the US at age four.
∙ Victoria Asher, the band’s keytarist, is the daughter of famed British Invasion producer Peter Asher of Peter & Gordon.
∙ Cobra Starship’s debut single, “Snakes On a Plane (Bring It),” was the theme song for the 2006 Samuel Jackson action thriller.
∙ Their cover of The Commodores’ hit “Three Times a Lady” appeared on their sophomore album, ¡Viva La Cobra!, as well on an episode of Gilmore Girls.
∙ Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester performed on their 2009 Platinum hit single, “Good Girls Go Bad.”
∙ In 2011, “You Make Me Feel...,” featuring former Britney Spears backup singer Sabi, became a worldwide dance hit, going double-Platinum in the US.
