Artist Biography
Singer/songwriter Christopher Owens writes straightforward pop songs that serve as carriers for boldly honest and vulnerable expressions of his internal struggles. Owens was a founding member of popular indie duo Girls, and ended the band somewhat abruptly in 2012 to go solo with a sound that took some of Girls' naive charm and catchiness and integrated it with the spirit of '70s AM pop and soft rock. He signed with Fat Possum records for releases like his 2013 solo debut Lysandre and in 2024, he returned to Girls' original label True Panther for the release of his spiritually yearning fourth solo album, I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair.
