Contemporary R&B vocalist and rapper Chris Sails, a native of Detroit, Michigan, cultivated an online audience as one-half of ChrisandQueen with Queen Naija. The duo became a popular social media draw via YouTube, with well over two million accounts subscribed to their vlogging channel. During 2017, a handful of their duets -- "Maybe," "Secret Girl," and "Breaking Bread" -- were commercially released on streaming platforms and as digital downloads. By the end of the year, Sails and Naija had split, and they each continued to record as solo artists.
