Artist Biography
Chiquititas began as a small segment on the Argentine Telefe, but quickly blossomed into much more, including a recording entity, stage show, and magazine. The kid-pop group was ushered into the mainstream in 1996 thanks to the hit single "Corazón con Agujeritos," and a short time later a stage show featuring the group's characters and music was produced in Buenos Aires. In 1997 a Brazilian cast was formed and quickly dominated the airwaves, selling over one million copies of its debut record. Although enjoying great success, Chiquititas called it quits in 2006, but not before inspiring numerous offshoots throughout Argentina and Brazil. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez
