In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My dad had this incredible record collection, and a really cool sound system. I remember we used to put on R.E.M's 'It's The End of the World' and I'd stand on his feet and we'd dance around the living room. Good tune. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Fiona Apple, Fetch The Bolt Cutters
Phoebe Bridgers, Punisher
Snail Mail, Lush
I think Punisher is just an incredible body of work - to hear something so intimate and autobiographical over lockdown was like nothing else. Lush, because you're only 19 once, and Fetch The Bolt Cutters, because Fiona completely cuts loose on it. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Virtue”
In the run up to releasing That's Just Extraordinary in lockdown, it felt as though there was something missing. I ended up writing and producing this over a week, and there's still something very raw about it to me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Organising and hosting a gig with my friend Jake, of the band Keep It Together. It was amazing to prove you don't need anything showy or a promotion company - the power of community really came to life that night. Plus we rocked. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I want to release my album, and then I think I'm going to do a lot of weird side jobs for some time after that. Lots of unexpected collaborations in unexpected genres.
