Artist Biography
Formed in Olympia, Washington by vocalist/artist/dancer Mary Jane Dunphe (of Vexx) and bassist/producer David Jacques, CC Dust combine the danceable punk energy of DFA Records artists, the swooping drama of vintage 4AD bands, and melodic New Order-style basslines. Topped off with the sometimes growling, sometimes angelic vocals of Dunphe, the duo has a sound that's firmly grounded in the past, but given a modern recasting. They appeared on It Gets Weirder: A Compilation of Olympia Punk in 2015 with the song "Abra," then released their debut single, "Shinkansen No. 1"/"New Ways," in August 2016. They followed that up with a self-titled five-song EP. ~ Tim Sendra
