Dance/disco vocalist Carol Lynn Townes had a pair of mild hits in the mid-'80s that were featured in soundtracks. Both "99 1/2" and "Believe in the Beat" were part of the music for Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, respectively. Neither was a rousing hit, although "99 1/2" made the R&B Top 30. ~ Ron Wynn
