About Carl Barât
Artist Biography
Juggling music, acting, and writing, Carl Barât had an eclectic career after the Libertines first disbanded in 2004. He soon formed Dirty Pretty Things, who released three albums between 2006 and their breakup in 2008. In 2010, Barât released his self-titled solo debut album and the book Threepenny Memoir: The Lives of a Libertine, ; he also pursued acting. As he worked on his second solo album, Barât realized he wanted the collaboration of a band, so he recruited the Jackals via a Facebook ad. The group's debut, Let It Reign, arrived in 2015. Barât also appeared in and wrote the score for Paule Muret's For This Is My Body, the story of a groupie and a vampiric rock star. ~ Heather Phares
