In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
When I was 13, my dad took me to see a band called Blue Monday. One night in a big Charlotte venue I watched the lead singer captivate the whole room—and I knew then I wanted to connect with people through music. A few years later, I had my own band. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
P!nk, Funhouse (Deluxe Version)
Ryan Beaver, Rx
Travis Meadows, First Cigarette
Travis Meadows’ First Cigarette taught me the power of raw honesty in songwriting. P!NK’s Funhouse made me feel free and inspired me to be myself. Ryan Beaver’s Rx is my go-to road trip album—it’s the sound I want my own music to feel like. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. “So Beautiful”
So Beautiful is the most special song I’ve released. I wrote it as a hopeful reminder I’d find love again. Seeing how both guys and gals relate to it has been magic. It’s fun, uplifting, and feels like an anthem for so many different seasons of life. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Opening for and singing with Willie Nelson was unforgettable—he made familiar songs feel brand new. It was truly surreal. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
As for my bucket list, there’s still plenty! Lately, Australia’s been top of mind—I’d love to play there someday.
