About BROODS
Artist Biography
Auckland, New Zealand siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott have been performing together since childhood.
∙ Broods producer Joel Little (Lorde, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons) first heard the Notts in 2010, when he judged their band The Peasants of Eden in the national teen music competition Smokefreerockquest.
∙ Little suggested the Notts take the band name Broods—a nod to both their sibling relationship and the brooding nature of their music.
∙ The pair’s debut song, “Bridges,” was iTunes’ Single of the Week in February 2014.
∙ In 2016, their second album, Conscious, garnered five New Zealand Music Awards, including Album of the Year, Best Group, and People’s Choice Award.
∙ Lorde cowrote the single “Heartlines,” the first Broods song with lyrics drawn from Caleb’s personal life.
