Artist Biography
Singer and songwriter Brando was focused on pop and R&B music before he collaborated with the Canadian dance duo Loud Luxury on the career-shifting 2017 smash “Body.”
• Loud Luxury met brando by chance in L.A. The duo was supposed to check out another artist, but when they saw Brando perform in the opening band, they were awed by his vocals.
• Brando eventually shared a demo for a song called “Body On My.” It was initially a slower hip-hop track in the style of DJ Mustard. Loud Luxury transformed it into hyper-catchy dance jam.
• “Body” charted around the globe, reaching No. 4 in the UK and cracking Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 in the US. The single achieved diamond certification in Loud Luxury’s native Canada.
• In the aftermath of “Body,” Brando has continued with electronic music, adding his vocals to songs like Dutch DJ and producer’s Don Diablo’s 2019 single “Congratulations.”
• His sensuous 2020 solo single “Look Into My Eyes” interpolates Charles & Eddie’s 1992 hit “Would I Lie to You?” The song was No. 1 on Australia’s airplay chart for 10 weeks.
