In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is the blues, jazz, soul or classical music that would fill our home from my father's record player. He had great taste in music, and a record collection that I now own.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Maxwell, Embrya Thandiswa, Zabalaza (Limited Edition) These are some of the first albums that I bought with my savings in high school. Though I have many favourite albums across various genres, these three albums have a special place in my heart because they formed the foundation of my musical taste.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dopamine” This is the title track of my first album and it is the last song that I wrote and recorded for it. It is a culmination of all the emotions, sounds and genres that were blended together to produce the experimental yet soulful album that is Dopamine.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing at the DSTV Delicious Festival 2019, alongside some of my favourite house musicians such as Ralf GUM, Monique Bingham, Kafele and Portia Monique. With House Music being one of my core genres, working with them made a lasting impact on me.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Beyond Alternative Soul and House, I am still going to experiment with many other genres and perform around the world. There is an endless list of artists that I want to collaborate with, shows I want to do and ideas that I am yet to bring to life.
