Artist Biography
Psychedelic pop group Blood Cultures fuse trippy experimental music with the trappings of 2010s chillwave, preferring to remain anonymous to preserve the connection between audio and audience. They uploaded their debut single, 2013's "Indian Summer," anonymously online. It wasn't until the release of their debut album, 2017's Happy Birthday, that they started giving interviews. Other anonymous musicians soon joined the project, crystallizing as a quartet in 2019, in time for their sophomore album, Oh Uncertainty! A Universe Despairs. A third album, LUNO, surfaced in 2021. They put together a charity compilation to raise awareness for Palestine in 2024, featuring music from artists including Nick Hakim, Jordana, and Inua Ellams. In the same year, they also provided their music for the soundtrack to indie video game Skate Story.
