Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Sam and Jimmy had been playing in different bands around the Sydney scene for a long time. At a festival in Victoria they made a pact to one day make a band together. In this moment BLOKBSTR had planted its seed.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? We were working with our best friend Oscar (Mel Blue) and wanted to make something that was nostalgic, colourful and would be incredibly fun to play live. It is everything we want to be.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We are big fans of Yard Act (UK). They announced a Sydney headline show at the iconic Factory Theatre. We had already bought tickets when we got asked to actually play on the night and open up the show. It was packed! We played! We had beer! Best!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Royal Albert Hall with our best friends all joining us on stage to contribute to a 2.5 hour mega show that features BLOKBSTR bringing their studio set up to the live stage. Instruments, humans and analogue gear everywhere. The ultimate party.
