About Block B
Artist Biography
The hip-hop–focused boy band BLOCK B turned around a shaky start in the K-pop industry to become one of the most influential and talked-about acts of their generation.
• Created under the eye of South Korean hip-hop veteran Cho PD, BLOCK B was crafted to be South Korea's response to Eminem.
• After claiming more than a year without payment and lack of proper facilities, BLOCK B filed a lawsuit against their record label in 2013 and independently negotiated to find new management with Seven Seasons under KQ Entertainment.
• Animated hip-hop hits like "Very Good" and “H.E.R” proved BLOCK B could live up to their comparisons to early Eminem. Later singles like “Toy” and “Don't Leave” proved the group had real R&B sensibilities.
• Block B leader Zico not only led his band mates to notoriety in K-pop and Korean hip-hop circles, but he has also become one of the most in-demand producers and collaborators in both worlds.
