In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
In 7th grade while on a field trip, the band director (who knew I played the upright bass) asked if I wanted to learn the electric and join the jazz band. Thus began my journey with jazz, culminating with a degree as a jazz bassist.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Zakir Hussain, The Melody of Rhythm
Metropole Orkest, Snarky Puppy, Sylva
Mr. Bill, Phantasmagoria
Each of these albums is an incredible representation of human potential either through jazz, traditional Indian music, or highly produced electronic dance music. I am instantly inspired to do the best work of my life when listening to these albums.

“Portrait of my Father (feat. Adolfo Haas)”
In an effort to mend my relationship with my father, I wrote this letter to him. For his listening experience to be very personal, I had Adolfo Haas translate and read the letter in the Yucatec dialect of Mayan, a language my father speaks fluently.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
In 2021 I composed an entire orchestral piece as a high school graduation present for my younger brother. Being in the audience during the piece's performance by the William Jewell College band was far and beyond one of my life's highlights.
