About Blaumut
Artist Biography
Blaumut were born when a group of classically trained musicians met casually at a Barcelona bar in 2009. Soon enough, Oriol Aymat, Xavi de la Iglesia, and Vassil Lambrinov were playing and composing together, seeking to develop a project that would combine Catalan art song and pop with string instruments such as violin and cello. Blaumut's original lineup was completed when drummer Manel Pedrós joined the band. The group began to perform in small local venues, and in 2012 recorded its debut album, El Turista, for the Picard label. Blaumont chose to self-release their sophomore outing, El Primer Arbre del Bosc (2015), while Equilibri (2017) was distributed by Música Global. ~ Mariano Prunes
