Formed in 1990, Big Fat Snake have grown to become one of Denmark's longest-running rock bands, not bad for a group that pulled its name from a Bob Dylan lyric. But the Big Fat Snake story actually goes back to 1988, when guitarist Peter Viskinde and guitarist/vocalist Anders Blichfeldt met while recording a demo for a failed band named the Werners. After that fell apart, they teamed up with other rock veterans to form Big Fat Snake, releasing their eponymous debut album in 1991. Through the rest of the decade they built a large following in Denmark, but didn't make much of an impression outside the country. However, after 11 albums they broke the mold in 2003 with One Night of Sin, which saw them teaming with Elvis Presley's old associates the T.C.B. Band and backing vocalists the Sweet Inspirations. Since then, they've issued More Fire in 2004, Between the Devil and the Big Blue Sea in 2006, and NU in 2007. ~ Chris Nickson
