Born Gustavo Roy Diaz in Santurce, Puerto Rico, the pioneering reggaeton artist known as Big Boy recorded his first album at the tender age of 18. MR. BIG went on to sell over 100,000 copies on the strength of the single, “Big Boy is in tha House.” Throughout the 1990s, Big Boy’s fame rose at home and abroad as he reached gold (1994’s QUE VAYAS CON DIOS) and platinum status (1996’s MIS OJOS LLORAN POR TÍ), recorded with famed salsa musician Tito Rojas (1997’s HE CHOCADO EN LA VIDA), and released a single in English (1999’s BIG IMPACT). As reggaeton has grown, Big Boy has stayed at the forefront as one of the genre’s most recognizable stars.
