Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Born Oladokun Abimbola Elijah, Bayanni was born in Alagbado, a bustling settlement between the borders of Lagos and Ogun state in Nigeria. He is the third of five boys, the son of a university bursar and a schoolteacher.

Bayanni, Bayanni - EP Bayanni strongly believes that his childhood equipped him with the solid foundation needed for a lifetime and has a heavy influence on his music today. He and his brothers were introduced to playing musical instruments in the church.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Ta Ta Ta” Bayanni was signed to Mavin following a life-changing DM from Don Jazzy and a subsequent stint at the prodigious Mavin academy. Within less than a year of his unveil, The Mavin signee had one of the biggest crossover songs of 2022 with ‘Ta Ta Ta’.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? ‘Ta Ta Ta’, which featured American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo on the remix. He continued on this steady trajectory in 2023, earning a Headies nomination for Rookie of the Year. “Ta Ta Ta” would also earn him a Gold Certification in Denmark.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To top it all off, his award-winning track “Ta Ta Ta” proved to be an evergreen hit, enjoying an unprecedented resurgence in East Asia. The song officially crossed 100 million streams in December 2024, making it his first song to do so.
