Baby Money is an integral part of Detroit’s rap renaissance, rising up in the ranks alongside Motor City peers like Babyface Ray, Peezy, Icewear Vezzo, Veeze, Tee Grizzley, and 42 Dugg. The rapper broke through on the strength of 2022’s Easy Money, which marked the MC’s first project with influential hip-hop label Quality Control. On that project, which features some of the artists mentioned above, Baby showcases his passionate, intoxicating flow. He spits like an Energizer Bunny, jumping around the beat with the fury of a pugilist knowing he’s got his opponent on the ropes. He would release three more records between 2022 and 2024, including H.I.M (Hustle In Me), which was released in the latter year and features Baby aggressively showcasing why his dedication to the craft sets him apart from others in the scene. On “Chances Make Champions,” he compares his hustle in the game to his years on the streets, aptly drawing a parallel between his risk-taking on the mic and in the hood. He raps: “Chances make champions, champions, they took chances/Real trap spots, these houses look abandoned.” In Baby Money’s world, opportunity is where you look to find it.
