In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being 6 years old and in my backyard my dad has these old paint cans lying around. So I set them up and made myself a drum set. And I would stay outside all night and day just banging away on the cans of paint.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Michael Jackson, Off the Wall Solange, When I Get Home Tyler, The Creator, Flower Boy Each one has marked a very special and sentimental time in my life and they are all perfect undeniable bodies of work, which is what I strive to create every time I work on an album.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Peace/Piece” This record marks a turning point in my life with me recently moving to Los Angeles, being at the beach definitely made me look at creating things more introspectively. I took what I saw as a risk and thankfully it came out as a beautiful record.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I just recently opened up for Smino, Young Nudy, and Orion Sun as a guest DJ. It was such a crazy show but even more so for me because I love all three of those artist and their catalogues.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Win Grammy Get invited to the Met Play Coachella Play Jimmy Fallon Work with Dev Hynes or Mg.kee Buy my parents the biggest house they've ever seen.
