Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my first musical memories is of sitting in the basement of my parents house on some shabby carpet listening to my father play the piano. I would watch him for hours and sometimes be given pots and pans to bang on. Always the rhythm section.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Gorillaz, Gorillaz Phoenix, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Vampire Weekend, Contra (Bonus Track Version) Contra's songwriting from Ezra and production style blew my mind when it came out. Gorillaz is a straight up classic album and nothing sounds like it still- reminds me of being in the car with my dad as a kid. Wolfgang is a near perfect album.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gone” First release as a Solo artist. Was really happy that people liked it. Bubble gum pop modernized. I was terrified to release it for many reasons but mostly because i've never felt my voice was strong enough to carry a whole song like i had to here.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There's so many. But probably winning Belmont University's Battle of the Bands as my second ever show. There was like a thousand people there and i thought it would be a good idea to wear all white in 90 degree weather. Glad i had black boxers on!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Honestly so much. I would love to do a solo tour. Sell out my hometown in Missouri. Get a song on Apple music radio- love me some Zane Lowe and TIme Crisis. Would also love to eventually sign for a smaller label i love like Soulection or XL
