Dutch electronic pop duo Arling & Cameron created playful, cosmopolitan music that embraced a vast variety of genres, all in the name of fun and dancing. Early on, they aligned themselves with the Japanese Shibuya-kei scene, producing a similar style of colorful, kitschy music drawing from retro influences such as French pop, lounge, and spy movie themes. The pair's debut album, All-In, originally appeared in Japan in 1997, and they worked with Shibuya-kei acts such as Pizzicato Five and Fantastic Plastic Machine. The appropriately cinematic Music for Imaginary Films followed in 2000, and the duo's music found its way into actual movie soundtracks and television programs. With subsequent albums like 2006's Hi-Fi Underground and 2015's guest-heavy Good Times, Arling & Cameron's music moved closer to a more modern electro-pop style. The duo continued releasing singles and remixes up until Gerry Arling's death in 2025.
Members of Arling & Cameron include, or have included, Richard Cameron.
