Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Before attempting to teach me, my father, Roop Verma, asked: ‘So, do you want to play sitar?” Though I was only five, I responded that yes, I would like to play, not knowing that this seemingly small decision would determine the course of my life.

“BLOSSOMING” uses Spring themes as a metaphor for a sudden rush of joy and love. The music video combines performance footage with cinematic shots in natural superblooms, going beyond the usual documentary style of filming Indian classical arts.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Performing at the United Nations with my father. After the initial nervousness, I found myself absorbed in the music and my anxieties melted away. It became all about the music, not about me–an experience I hope my listeners can share.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Certainly more than fits in a bucket! I have so much music inside that I want to release to uplift and energize people. I’d love to share this music in more places, such as Africa and East Asia, and continue to dialogue with diverse musical cultures
