Artist Biography
Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal supergroup with ties to Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, the Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist. The band takes a straight-ahead approach to death metal reminiscent of Entombed or late-period Carcass, blending catchy, classic-style metal riffs with crushing grooves for an intense yet accessible sound. Emerging in 1995, Arch Enemy hit its stride in the early 2000s with Rise of the Tyrant (2007). Despite enduring multiple shifts in personnel -- founding guitarist Michael Amott remains the sole constant member -- the band has continued to thrive, issuing late-period death metal opuses like War Eternal (2014), Will to Power (2017), Deceivers (2022), and Blood Dynasty (2025).
