Apulanta is a chart-topping Finnish rock band whose style has evolved since they began as a group of teenage friends in the early '90s. Their early output drew from punk and alternative rock, and starting in 1996, the band hit number one on the Finnish charts practically every single year with either a hit single, album, or both. They experimented with sound and presentation as they soldiered on, beginning to explore nu metal on albums like 2005's Kiila, and continuing down that road from there. Elements of melodic punk and electronic music had found their way into the mix by the time of 2022's Sielun kaltainen tuote, the band's 14th studio album.
Members of Apulanta include, or have included, Toni Wirtanen.
