Andromeda Turre is a jazz and pop vocalist, composer, pianist, producer, arranger, stage actress, dancer, and radio program host. Her throaty, silky alto is dynamic and resonant. The last Raelette hired by Ray Charles, after his death, she wrote and directed the vocal arrangements for the Ray Charles Tribute Tour. Her 2008 self-released Introducing Andromeda Turre received a Grammy nod. She teamed with Steve Shewbrooks to form the synth pop band Eminent Pulse; they released six albums between 2011's Girl Like Me and 2020's Her. 2019's Shine, her sophomore solo date, was recorded in a one-room studio in a single day. In 2023, while acting in and directing several music theater projects, she joined Michael Bublé's Songs of the Season gala. In 2024, she released From the Earth, an ambitious four-movement jazz suite thematically centered around the planet and the effects of climate change on marginalized communities. ~ Thom Jurek
