About Andrew Stockdale
Artist Biography
The former lead singer of the Australian hard rock band Wolfmother, Andrew Stockdale is a powerful vocalist/guitarist with a style heavily informed by such '70s acts as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Born in Brisbane, Australia in 1976, Stockdale formed Wolfmother in 2000. Although the rhythm section changed over the years, Stockdale remained the central figure in the band, appearing on their 2005 self-titled debut and 2009 follow-up, Cosmic Egg. After the band split in 2013, Stockdale revealed that he would be releasing his latest album under his own name. Titled Keep Moving, the album showcased many of the same blues and hard rock influences that informed his work with Wolfmother. ~ Matt Collar
