Artist Biography
AlunaGeorge (Aluna Francis and George Reid) pride themselves on making music that can’t be neatly categorized. The London duo’s 2012 debut single “You Know You Like It” immediately established their vision, pinning Francis’ distinct, sugary vocals against Reid’s future-leaning production pulling from electronic, pop, hip-hop, and R&B. Within a year, they had earned their first UK Top 40 hit—“White Noise,” with house revivalists Disclosure—and released their first album, 2013’s Body Music. AlunaGeorge soon broke out Stateside when DJ Snake’s remix of “You Know You Like It” climbed the charts in 2015 and featured on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. Over the next few years and two records (2016’s I Remember and 2018’s Champagne Eyes EP), they challenged themselves creatively, working with Kaytranada, Jamaican singer Popcaan, rapper Leikeli47, and R&B artist Bryson Tiller, proving their versatility and collaborative star power. AlunaGeorge went on hiatus in 2020 to focus on solo projects.
