Able to switch smoothly from menacing verses to dulcet hooks, Marseilles native Alonzo is among the most prominent hip-hop artists in France. After three albums with the group Psy 4 de la Rime, Alonzo embarked on a solo career with Un dernier coup d'œil dans le rétroviseur (2009). He first hit the French Top Ten with the follow-up, Les temps modernes (2010), and soon became a Top Ten fixture with a streak sustained for over well over a decade. Boosted by a deal with Def Jam France, Alonzo debuted for that label with Règlement de comptes (2015), featuring the number eight hit "Même tarif." The multi-platinum Avenue de St Antoine (2016) and platinum 100% (2017) likewise highlighted Alonzo's 2010s output, and those sets have been followed in the 2020s with Epic-distributed albums such as Quartiers nord (2022) and Longue Vie à Nous (2025) continuing the streak of Top Ten full-lengths.
