Rapper and YBN (Young Boss N****s) crew member YBN Almighty Jay went from freestyling in Xbox lobbies to racking up millions of streams with his unorthodox delivery.
• The Texas native met future bandmate YBN Nahmir playing Xbox Live when both were preteens. Using cheap mics, they began recording their first songs.
• Jay broke out in 2017 with tracks like “Chopsticks,” which quickly racked up more than 20 million plays across platforms. He prides himself on freestyling every verse and never writing anything down in the studio.
• He further made his name on 2018’s YBN: The Mixtape, showcasing his wild delivery on three solo tracks.
