Allie Colleen exhibited a light touch on her first single, "Work in Progress." Her sweet, affable voice and gentleness belied her status as the descendant of one of the biggest stars country music ever generated. As the daughter of Garth Brooks, Colleen can be superficially categorized as Nashville royalty, but "Work in Progress" revealed a singer/songwriter with her own distinctive sound, one that builds upon the sensitive country-pop inclinations of early Taylor Swift.
Calling Owasso, Oklahoma, her hometown, Allie Colleen started pursuing a professional musical career after graduating from Nashville's Belmont University. Initially, she built her following on the Internet, regularly posting videos to YouTube. An original song called "Close Enough" helped expand her audience throughout the Internet and led to an appearance on The Bobby Bones Show.
