Acclaimed U.K. folk singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Allan Taylor attracted the attention of United Artists Records after a supporting gig with Fairport Convention. His debut, SOMETIMES, was released in 1971; a year later he relocated to New York City, where he recorded the excellent AMERICAN ALBUM with a wealth of respected Nashville and Los Angeles session musicians. In 1975 Taylor formed the group Cajun Moon to further indulge his interest in American roots styles. Following an operation to repair his damaged vocal chords, he recommenced his solo career with 1978's THE TRAVELLER. Taylor became a Doctor of Ethnomusicology in the late 1990s.
