The band took their name from adult performer Alexis Fire.
∙ Singer Dallas Green was named for the late Philadelphia Phillies manager, because his father had placed a bet on the team to win the World Series the year he was born. (They did.)
∙ The band’s first EP, Math Sheet Demos, came wrapped in then-drummer Jesse Ingelevics’ math homework.
∙ In 2005, they won the Juno Award for New Group of the Year.
∙ In 2006, their third studio album, Crisis, debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian charts.
∙ In 2019, they released a video for “Familiar Drugs” that was shot entirely on cell phones and VHS equipment.
