In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is seeing a Bryan Adams music video on MuchMusic on TV in my home in the Far North... and having a deep sense of knowing that one day, I would also be doing the same thing - making music, and making music videos.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Notawe (Father)” Notawe (Father) is the first song that I have written & released in my first language, Omushkegowuk Cree. It has been winning over fans with its sentiment and emotion, and being played all around the world. I couldn't be happier with the response!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career so far was opening for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with my band Midnight Shine. We played Ottawa Bluesfest in 2017, and were scheduled for the same night. It was exciting to play that mainstage.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are many things left on my bucket list as an artist! I'd like to see one of my songs played in rotation on radio in Canada. I'd like to do a full cross-Canada tour from coast-to-coast. And I'd like to continue inspiring people with my music.
