Representing his area code in his stage name, 803Fresh is an exuberant singer who promotes his feel-good Southern R&B as "Carolina soul." The Georgia-born, South Carolina-raised Douglas Furtick began singing as a youngster at the Baptist church he attended, and in his early teens, he toured as a member of a youth choir. Eventually, he pursued secular music, and after he joined the local Snake Eyez Music Group, he got into recording. The easygoing ballads "All Night Long" and "This Ain't That" were released in 2023 as his first commercial singles. In 2024, he released four singles, the last of which was "Boots on the Ground." The celebratory and more uptempo track went viral, prompting an instructional version that increased its dance appeal, along with additional remixes. Suddenly in greater demand as a performer, 803 toured throughout the South and also hit Detroit during the summer of 2025.
