Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Ironically for choosing to become an artist, I had the worst stage fright growing up. Specifically, I remember finally being forced to play at my guitar teacher's showcase after faking sick multiple times and being petrified the entire time.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago MGMT, Oracular Spectacular Nirvana, MTV Unplugged In New York (Live Acoustic) The best gift I ever received was a record player from my high school boyfriend. I didn’t have enough money to buy all the new records I wanted, but I did score these three so, by default, they became some of my all-time favorites.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “living in the 90s” This song is an ode to my hometown, Seattle. Specifically, it's an ode to my favorite era in Seattle history, the 90s, and all the amazing bands that came out of that time like The Fastbacks, Hole, Flop, Nirvana, and Mudhoney.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Been a lot of memorable ones but the most meaningful moments would be reading the DMs I receive from you guys. They never cease to make my day! It still blows my mind that people all over the world who I don't personally know listen to my music.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Not really something to check off a list, more of an ongoing mission, but just continuing to push boundaries as an Asian American artist and advocate for greater inclusivity and representation in the music industry.
