“This is a soundtrack for the queer clubs where you go to dance and let yourself be free,” says artist and DJ Rebecca Black about her Pride DJ mix. “To me, there are so many different facets of music that make up what it means to be queer.” The artist, who first found viral fame in the early 2010s, has since re-emerged as a songwriter and DJ who attributes so much of her own evolution to those who came before. “My learning as a DJ was explicitly led by queer people, and a set that takes you through a sonic journey full of surprises is my favorite way to approach sets, all full of humor, unseriousness, and thumping bass,” she says. “The majority of these remixes were made by legendary underground queer and trans DJs across the world. This mix is in honor of the artists and DJs who inspired me, led me through my own artistic discovery.”
