K-pop artist CHUU (츄) pairs introspection with synth-pop for the dreamy title track of her mini album Only cry in the rain. The former LOONA member uses New Wave synth-pop to sing about letting repressed feelings free on a rainy day. Only cry in the rain is CHUU’s third EP, following 2023’s Howl and 2024’s Strawberry Rush. The soloist, who is known as “human vitamin” amongst her fans for the healing properties of her music and pop persona, offers further comfort to listeners on the R&B throwback track “Back in town,” the easy-listening silliness of “Kiss a kitty,” love song “Je t’aime,” and affirmation pop banger “No more.”
