SAN BLAS
Album · Urbano latino · 2025
Some five years ago, Panamanian star Boza first made his mark beyond his home country’s borders with “Hecha Pa’ Mí.” Borrowing from and building upon a number of local and Caribbean sounds, that tropical contrast to the sleeker reggaetón and trap prevalent in 2020 has since become a signature of his. On the concise yet satisfying SAN BLAS, he continues to push that sonic style further via “energíaS” and “Erre,” his broadening palette evident throughout. An urgent dancehall throb drives “fluiR,” while the breezier approach of “yayA” belies the seriousness of its subject matter. While most of his reggaetonero peers tend to fill their projects’ guest vocal slots with other men, he instead shares his space here with some of Latin music’s finest female artists. Colombian singer Greeicy joins for the tempestuous and torrid “todavíA,” while Venezuelan sensation ELENA ROSE cultivates a more cautious vibe on the relatable “orióN.”
