The first incarnation of “Aries (YuGo),” which appears on Mike WiLL Made-It’s 2017 album, Ransom 2, is essentially a Pharrell solo cut—its cheeky re-billing of the rapper as Station Wagon P notwithstanding. “Aries (YuGo), Pt. 2,” then, plays out like a remix of hip-hop years past: the beat and chorus remain fully intact, and a few more voices are added for flavor. The whole of the new cast, save for an unswerving Big Sean, split their time between harmonizing and more straightforward rapping, but the theme remains true to the original: money is the motivation.
