"Nimoy" pairs tough, nervous drum programming with hypnotic arpeggios, building to a wild, dissonant crescendo over its nine-minute run. As on the first volume, the remainder of the EP foregoes beats in favor of flickering ambient pulses: "Return" explores the lyrical melodies and cyclical counterpoints of '70s synthesizer music, while "The Hour" sounds like the intro to The Who's "Baba O'Riley" spun into cotton candy.
